Care Instructions

These artistic jewellery are handmade from recycled paper and are completely unique, therefore standard sizes and colours vary. We will do our best to ensure the product you receive reflects your request.

Recommendations:
+ Please do not use tomato sauce or pure lemon juice on our pieces. While they may make it shine, these methods remove the outer layer.

+ Never clean your jewellery in bleach, this will break down your jewellery.

+ If the jewellery contains gemstones or pearls, do not submerge the entire piece into water. Instead, use a cotton swab with mild dishwashing liquid to wash.

+ Chlorine bleach, alcohol, turpentine, acetone and ammonia are all harmful to the jewellery. These chemicals can dull or even pit the surface on softer gemstones.

+ As with all our pieces, we recommend for the best longevity of your purchase to store your pieces separate from each other to prevent scratching.

+ We recommend keeping your jewellery free from hair sprays, lotions, perfume, chlorine, etc. Allow perfumes and lotions to dry before putting on your jewellery.

Caring for your Paper Bead:

Our paper Jewellery is water resistant, and yes can also withstand being submerged in 1meter of static water for up to 25 minutes. They have been shellacked and glossed several times with varnish to give them a wonderful matte finish and make them water resistant.

Wipe them clean with a slightly damp cloth is no problem, but you should not bathe or swim in them.

Caring for Sterling Silver:
The easiest and best way to prevent tarnishing is to store clean, dry sterling silver in a dry airtight container, like a zip-lock bag. You can purchase anti-tarnishing strips from certain jewellers if required. Polishing jewellery pieces regularly will take care of most tarnishing and cleaning problems. A jewellery polishing cloth is designed with a treated interior cloth for cleaning and an exterior cloth for polishing.

Clean your jewellery with the inside cloth first.
Moisten the cloth slightly for extremely tarnished pieces. After your jewellery is cleaned, then lightly buff it with the outer cloth to create a rich lustre.
If your jewellery needs a little more attention, sparing use of a polishing cream can help but please be aware that less is always more. Also, these polishing chemicals should never be used to clean gemstones, pearls, agate or any other stones in our jewellery.
